FN 5.7x28mm Ammo 27gr Lead-Free Hollow Point SS198LF is a high performance, lead-free defensive and duty load developed by FN Herstal for the 5.7x28mm platform. Originally intended for law enforcement applications, this cartridge has become highly sought after among civilian 5.7 shooters for its velocity, flat trajectory, and lightweight hollow point design.
The SS198LF is loaded with a 27 grain lead-free hollow point projectile featuring an aluminum core and copper jacket. It uses the same lightweight projectile design as the SS195LF, but is loaded to higher velocities for increased energy and terminal performance. The round is easily identified by its distinctive green painted tip.
From the FN Five-seveN pistol, the SS198LF is commonly rated around ~2,200 fps, while velocities from the PS90 platform can exceed ~2,500 fps, producing an exceptionally flat shooting cartridge with low recoil.
